APS5 Internal Review Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with participants/applicants to gather information regarding the nature and context of review requests.
  • Informing participants/applicants and their representatives about decisions, reviews and the appeals process.
  • Monitoring and managing caseloads, ensuring internal reviews are completed within set timeframes.
  • Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.

Key Capabilities

  • A degree in law, social work, psychology, disability studies, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience working within the disability sector, social services, or a related field.
  • An understanding of various disabilities and the challenges individuals face.
  • Previous experience with case management, advocacy, or legal decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, empathy, and strong organizational skills.
  • High-level analytical skills, with the ability to assess evidence, analyse information, and make sound decisions.
  • Australian Citizenship required
